Blade And Soul PvE and PvP

PVE:
The damage from summoners is really good, Blade-Soul aoe’s did around 15-20k per tick (i can’t remember the exact amount) and my hornet(RB) also did a ton of damage. I was able to out damage most CN players that were also end game. If you compare damage with a geared KFM or BM, who are very skilled at their class, they will end up out damaging you, but you won’t be that far behind :).

Summoners can do anything and everything in PVE, they can have their cat tank almost any boss while they sit back and do damage. They are also great at supporting because their LB reduces the defense on a boss by 50% (Can’t remember the exact %), which allows your party to do great damage if they are under-geared. They can use their pollen to block all projectile attacks and use their flower(4) to have the team avoid a deadly boss attack. Their ability to mob is amazing, you run around and collect 15 monsters and have your cat tank it while you drop tons of AOE and wipe the floor with them.

PVP:
I had a rating of 1500-1700 in PVP i can’t quite remember, but i did have a BNS Gold cup. Summoners are really good at PVP, their ability to apply DOTS on the enemy while having your cat stun, groggy and do damage while you run away and heal off your ability’s and do damage at the same time is an amazing feeling. You can dodge almost every skill your opponent throws at you by using the Flower(4, i don’t remember the skill name). If you time your flower right, you will never get caught :). Especially having 45-60k HP as a summoner makes you feel invincible in the Arena.

Summoners are excellent in PVP and PVE. They might not do stupendous amounts of damage like a KFM,LBM or BM with low ping, but you will be doing a great amount of damage, even out damaging your party if you play it right :). A good summoner in PVP will dominate almost anybody, they have the tools to reach even the highest rank in PVP. For summoners in PVP, it all comes down to skill.

The New Players of Blade & Soul

New players should look over this topics and not listen to any twitch streamers with little to no knowledge of this game. A Tera twitch streamer whom argued that: Over 100 ping with most class is inefficient is ‘Over Exaggerated.” He then went on stating that “There are no different if you have 40 or 50 ms.” Him coming from only maining Tera and some other game over time, with max lvl 8 from CN servers and some friends on TW, spilling out false information to his twitch viewers who haven’t played this game or have 0 knowledge…like WTF?

I just don’t get why people like this giving information out to people who have no clue about how much ping matter compared to Buy Blade And Soul Gold. The whole 2 hrs of his stream is him comparing and arguing why Tera only need 100 ms to do Fantastic and you can do same with BnS with any class. People were in his stream telling him info, but he straight up blocking him out with what his GF tell him or what he believed in. Please new players read these forums instead of going around listen to some streamers that haven’t played the game pass lvl 8!

I main a summoner in TW too. my ping usually around 59 to 61 ms. There was a period of time server was unstable and it spike to 200 to 300+. The difference is there for mostly hornets. rest of the skill are like Dots, thus not much effect. But for class 4 hornet as people mention, and also class 3 hornet if ur crit rate high and unlock the LB 5th tier skill, it a huge dps difference. since this 2 skill rely on instant cast and speed.

But it does not mean that Blade and Soul is unplayable after 100ms. I’d say the inefficiency starts showing effects from 250ms and higher, but some classes might not be able to ani-cancel that well from 200ms on wards. And, level 8 in CN? I doubt that is enough to actually predict anything. I think that’s the level where the Q and E dodge are first unlocked? It’s pretty unbelievable how he can still spill shit like that as well as saying he played till level 8, only.

I agreed ping is important though some class that can do well with 100+ ping, but for some such as LBM / LSM having 20-40 ping you will feel and see the differences during PvE (as Pomf who showed the video comparison in another thread). For him to spill stuff like that to new players is just unacceptable. He also compared to how BNS animation cancel is dull compared to Tera which have no animation cancel, but skill canceling Blade-Soul Gold. Though i did leave the stream at 2hrs mark because he was just to fixed on his Tera rather than listen to reasoning and facts, so i don’t know what else he spilt during his 15hrs livestream.

RPG video game was a simulation of a Table Top Role Playing Blade And Soul

And this got me to think about an age old debate/banter me and my long time roommate have about RPGs in general. Back when ME2 (Mass Effect 2) I was upset, because it wasn’t a RPG to me, which triggered the back and forth we had for years.

Back then a RPG had to have several specific elements to qualify.

1: Leveling system, where you choose how to level.
2: Items: and inventory.
3: Background dice roll.

The reason was simple, for me a RPG video game was a simulation of a Table Top Role Playing Game, as such it had to have the basic elements found in games like D&D.
My roommate had an other idea, a RPG was a game where you choose your own path or destiny, and the player gets into the Role of the Character.
In the end we both ended up on a merged definition to Buy Blade And Soul Gold, where a good RPG had to have both design principles. The key being Good, bad RPGs could have some of the defined parts.

On to the topic at hand, what does a RPG video game mean to you? What are the essentials for a Good RPG? Does a RPG have to have a D&D core, or can it be something else.

Also as a bit of fun, are there RPGs out there labeled as other genres, but are clearly RPGs. Case in point, the Saints Row games, they have every element found in RPGs, but they are sold as “Thug-Life” games.

RPG definition different from one to another person, for me RPG meant that game suppose to have magics, shield/sword, bow classes and of course some evil magic bosses, open world exploration and my character progression should tie to the game story or game lore. Nowsaday, most RPG games are mix with some new modern world technologies to keep thing interest to player but It does kill my in game immersion. For example BnS NPC using rifle and they do have ability make it like a machine gun…and Poharan with Gatling Gun with Missiles in some CS are out of place for me period lol.
*Anything with gun/technologies game I called them FPS (orthird person) RPG games.

To me an RPG is a game that you affect the outcome of the story. Where the role you play makes a difference in the game as far as what plot lines you see, what npcs interact with you and in what capacity they do with Blade & Soul Items. Basically if the game is mostly unaffected by the choices you make, then to me it isnt really an RPG. Case in point. BnS isnt an rpg. Because you dont have any choices in regard to the story. When (spoiler alert if you havent made it to 45 and completed the story yet) Mushin convinces you to go to the dark side you have no choice in the matter. You have to do it in order to progress the game. Would have been nice to tell him to go to hell instead.

Blade & Soul Merry Potter Recipe

Except that line of argument has absolutely nothing to do with the complaint. The poster made no mention of the prices of anything at all. For all anyone knows, the poster got an early Merry Potter recipe and was able to advance relatively simply by paying the prices. The poster might have had to save in game gold from dailies and play the market. The poster might have only gotten the True Siren because of the significantly lowering costs of moonwater trans stones.

The complaint was about a player that played the game feeling that his Blade & Soul Gold was cheapened by adding cash shop short cuts. And the response was nonsensical.

I understand people have differing opinions about things, but it would be very nice if people didn’t attempt to dismiss the opinions of someone else based on an argument completely irrelevant.

But the prices going down still effectively “cheapens” his achievement. It’s an inevitable consequence. By rushing for it you basically are sacrificing the convenience of having things being much more accessible at a later time, in return for being one of the first to have it. I don’t see how that’s dismissing his argument, just offering a valid counterpoint.

To clarify further, what I’m trying to say is the prices were already going down quickly anyway and while the rng boxes did have an effect I’m not convinced the effect was so huge as for it to be worth getting worked up over.

Blade & Soul 10x More Powerful

Your GPU, no matter how powerful, is not what you should be looking at. Hell, back in 2012 in KR B&S, my GTX 460 SE ran this game at 1080P/60 FPS in relatively empty areas. That’s a sub 100 USD GPU with a Phenom II 4x core 3.8 GHZ, another sub 100 USD piece of hardware.

My more current system is nearly 10x more powerful than that and the performance is nearly identical, except for higher resolution being present.

This is why NCSOFT went with UE3. Because on shit systems, without crowds, it performs well. We all know the vast majority of users, are still using old as hell hardware. It’s not a brainer why they thought this would be a brilliant idea.

In crowded areas this backfired on them as UE3 destroys performance no matter how powerful your system is cheap Blade & Soul Gold. The engine was never designed to handle MMO or anything with excessive crowds/events happening all at once as far as I know.

TERA and Nexus was the biggest example of just how bad UE3 is for large scale events.

On my system, it literally dropped FPS to 1-10; the lowest I’ve seen in any game, ever.

So please guys, is not that I don’t want it to be fixed. Is that it can’t be fixed, not anymore. We have to look at the problem with realistic solutions.

The only realistic solution here is to upgrade your CPU to the biggest, highest core clock number you can or overclock if you have the experience. That or of course, move on to another game.
